Anti-US sentiments in West Asia

As the United States continues to give full support to the Israeli regime in its ongoing genocide in Gaza, the resistance front has increased its attacks on US bases and interests in the region.

Since 2020, after US assassination of anti-terrorist icon Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, the resistance in the region has been demanding an end to American presence. Since October 7, 2023, as the US openly supports the genocide in Gaza, the resistance has increased its attacks by rocks, missiles and drones on US interests. And now, the Americans are themselves considering if it is worth it for them to stay in the region as they continue to lose more soldiers in these acts of resistance in West Asia. This is while Washington and Baghdad hold first round of talks on future of US-led coalition forces in Iraq.

In this edition of the Spotlight, Press TV interviews Saad al-Muttalibi, former political advisor to Iraqi government from Baghdad and Rick Sterling, activist with Syria Solidarity Movement out of Walnut Creek, California, to look deeper at the issue.
