At the Ramstein Meeting, the Head of the Pentagon Announced the Transfer of More Than 150 Leopard Tanks to Ukraine

A meeting of the Ramstein contact group on arms supplies to Ukraine began . Today it takes place in the format of a videoconference.

Before the start of the meeting, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin made an opening speech and the conference participants went into closed session.

In his opening remarks, Austin said that more than 150 Leopard tanks should be handed over to Ukraine.

“The coalition of countries that provides Ukraine with Leopard tanks continues to grow. Now 9 countries have pledged to provide more than 150 Leopard tanks,” Austin said.

Probably, this refers to the supply of Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 tanks.

The Pentagon has previously said that a plan to send M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine is already underway .

Meanwhile, the war in Ukraine continues for 385 days. We follow the news on March 15 in our online .

Earlier we summed up the results of the 384th day of the war . Fighting continues in the Bakhmut direction. At a Stavka meeting yesterday, all its members spoke in favor of continuing the defense of Bakhmut, since a defensive operation in this direction is of the greatest strategic importance for deterring the enemy. In the afternoon there was a large-scale shelling of the center of Kramatorsk by the Russian Federation. A three-story house was destroyed, and several other buildings were damaged. There are dead and wounded.
