“Some checkpoints and engineering structures will remain in operation; part of the engineering barriers will go into sleep mode; other engineering barriers will be completely dismantled,” said Sergei Popko, head of the KGVA.
According to him, the engineering structures, which should continue to perform their security function for the capital, will be left and improved. In particular, unusable concrete blocks, sandbags, anti-tank hedgehogs will be replaced with new ones, dugouts will be strengthened, and trenches will be put in order.
Some other engineering barriers that will be important for the defense of the city will remain in a “sleeping” mode – roadblocks will be removed from the roadway, but concrete blocks, sandbags, anti-tank hedgehogs, etc. left in certain places.
The remaining barrier systems, which are not currently needed, are being dismantled. Such checkpoints will be removed from the roadway; concrete blocks, sandbags and anti-tank hedgehogs will be taken out; the trenches will be filled in, and the dugouts will be dismantled.
As “DS” wrote, on February 27, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, said that Russia had no plans for a new offensive against Kiev.
