Cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan was discussed today in Dushanbe. Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met there, MIR 24 TV channel reports.
The parties discussed the work of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries, as well as the Trade Council. The development and expansion of cooperation in the areas of transport and cargo transportation, the creation of industrial enterprises and the use of transport corridors of Turkmenistan were recognized as promising.
“Of course, we discussed in great detail the current state of bilateral relations and discussed issues related to the prospects for its further expansion. Today, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan are developing their cooperation in the widest range of areas. In the political and diplomatic dimension, for more than 30 years, our countries have consistently supported each other in the international political arena, primarily in the UN and other important international structures,” said Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.
At the end of the conversation, the parties discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral meetings and conversations.
