Several holiday events are set to begin this weekend in the Mid-Ohio Valley. The Holiday Lights Parade in Belpre will kick off at 6 p.m. Saturday, traveling from Belpre High School to Howes Grove Park along Washington Boulevard.
In Marietta, the Merry-Etta Christmas Parade will also take place at 6 p.m. Saturday on Front Street. This festive parade will feature floats, dancers, carolers, and more, all illuminated with holiday lights.
The theme of the 2024 Merry-Etta Christmas Parade is “Frosty and Friends.” Organizers are inviting local nonprofits, businesses, and community groups to take part in the lighted procession.
On Monday, the Williamstown Lighted Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Highland Avenue. Following the parade, the town’s Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will be held around 7 p.m. at the Williamstown Municipal Building.
The Castle on Fourth Street in Marietta will offer Victorian Christmas tours on select December dates. Visitors will experience the holiday decorations of a Victorian home while learning about the history of Christmas traditions and how the Davis family celebrated in 1888. Tickets are required for the tours.
